I took this featured image photo, of some late Victorian terraced houses in Kirkcaldy a couple of months ago, and hadn’t realised I hadn’t posted it on wordpress. I personally prefer the black & white version, but I know quite a few of you prefer to see the colour image, so I’ve included a framed version of that too. 🙂

Two lovely shots, I like how you posted them both together. The black and white one is full of atmosphere but I love all the shades of yellow in the colour one.

Thank you Lorna 🙂 It is amazing how often a B&W looks almost totally different from the original colour image – I used to take my B&W images in camera, but you get a much better edit if you shoot in colour, then convert to monochrome. I must admit, I was pretty pleased with the way both images turned out, normally I much prefer the BnW version.

I’m with you on the b&w. It feels more dramatic and textural. The color one seems more picturesque but I like the drama more.
